2023 Round One Results
Round One of the playoffs is in the books, and my rare attempt at prognostication showed I was half smart and half stupid. The easier half of the bracket, #1-#4 seeds, I got right. Granted the #1 overall seed struggled against the #16 seed, but otherwise they were all laughers. The second set of games however completely surprised me. 0-4.
Minute Recap
#1 Oklahoma 37 Wyoming 24 - Despite a vast disparity in overall yardage, the scoreboard with 6 minutes left showed this was merely a 7 point game. Wake up call? Remember, Wyoming beat last year’s National Champs, so maybe they are Giant killers?

2023 Playoff Preview
Wyoming (6-5) at #1 Oklahoma (12-0) -21
The ironic part here is that 28 prestige Wyoming upset Montana (my second team), and as they tied for the WAC lead, this gives Wyoming the playoff spot. Otherwise this would be Ostrow vs. Ostrow, a week after we had Cooley vs. Cooley, though in a considerably different form. Oklahoma’s #1 seed in the playoffs and unblemished record are very good examples of why you should never hit the panic button when looking at your roster in the preseason. On paper this is one of the worst Sooner teams ever seen in Gridiron Glory. Yet they have the #3 offense, with a well balanced attack. The Top 25 Prospects, 2023 Season
As the new season dawns on us, there is a certain inevitability that ensues. The leaves change color, the air chills, and players get ready to move on to the next level...or not. Many players enter their senior year with that question hanging over their heads: Do they have what it takes to become a professional player? The same can be asked of rising juniors, who become part of the process for the first time.
