Welcome to College Game Day I’m Chris Fowler, Joined by Kirk Herbstriet, and Lee Corso as we prepare to kick off the 2019 season of Gridiron Glory.

Chris: Any opening statements guys?

Lee: Yeah, I can’t wait for this season to get started. The Top 4 conferences (SEC, BIG 10, BIG 12, and PAC 10) all have 3 teams in the Top 12 to start the season.

Kirk: Thing won't end that way Lee. Let's remember that this is the same poll that had Wake Forest #1 near the end of the season.

National Title Reprise

It has been announced that the two teams in last year’s National Title game, the UCLA Bruins and Oklahoma Sooners, have scheduled a home and home agreement starting this year in week two at Los Angeles. The Sooners defeated the Bruins in the title game 15-11, in one of the most defensive championship games in league history. Oklahoma comes into the season ranked #1 in the polls, while UCLA is ranked #5 in the Media Poll and #6 in the Coaches Poll. Gone for UCLA is star RB Jesse Green who ranked fifth in the nation in rushing with 1717 yards, and Oklahoma WR Tyler Lua who finished fourth in receiving with 1157 yards. Glory Announces Conference Changes

Gridiron Glory offices today released the following press release pertaining to conference alignment changes effective with the start of the 2019 season:

Beginning with the 2019 football season, The University of Utah and San Diego State University have accepted an invitation from the Pac 10 conference to compete in football competition.

The Pac 10 will be known as the Pac 12 beginning in 2019 and will divide its teams into two divisions (North and South) and exercise its option to hold a championship game. That Pac 12 North will consist of Utah, Washingto...read more.

2018 Kickoff!

Great news sports fans, the 2018 college football season kicks off this Saturday! Gridiron Glory begins its fourteenth season. Perhaps the marquee match up is #1 Texas visiting #7 USC. Last year the Longhorns destroyed the Trojans in one of the most embarrassing losses USC has seen at home in many years. With a new coach in town, we can be sure the Trojans want to erase that loss and come back with a spirited victory of their own. The Longhorns are led by a relatively untested soph in QB Dusty Kellar, while USC goes into the season seemingly lacking in a star tailback.
